Some of the things that make our school different are many but Circle time is the best for me. Every morning in our classroom after assembly, we have circle time. Circle time is when we all sit in a big circle. We talk, listen, and share. Our teacher joins us too. Everyone is welcome. Circle time helps us feel safe and happy.
During circle time, we take turns to speak. We talk about how we feel. Sometimes we feel good. Sometimes we feel sad. That is okay. Circle time is a time to be honest and kind.
In circle time, we also talk about problems. If someone was mean or pushed another friend, we talk about it. We don’t shout or blame. We listen and try to understand. Then we think of ways to be kind next time.
Circle time is not just for problems. We play games too. We sing songs. We pass a talking object around the circle. Only the person with the object talks. This helps us listen and take turns.
Our teacher reminds us: “What we say in circle time stays in circle time.” That means we keep it private. This helps us trust each other.
Circle time makes us feel like a team. We care for each other. We learn how to share and be kind.
Every day, we look forward to circle time because we say what is on the heart and we solve where necessary.
